Disney Channel's | Kya Mast Hai Life - Season 2

Disney Channel's award-winning show ‘Kya Mast Hai Life' is back! A magical potion with a mind of its own, found hidden in an ancient book, will spice up the lives of the popular Tween gang in the new season, which premieres on April 17 at 1 p.m.

Summer starts off with Zee discovering a magical potion. The potion makes one's last thoughts come alive, leading to a series of comic situations in the lives of Zee, Zenia, Rags and Vir. The cast includes Shaheer Sheikh, Nazneen Ghani, Ashish Juneja and Shweta Tripathi.

Devaragam

The relationships within a family and a woman's plight are explored in this new serial. It narrates the story of a woman who is forced to commit murder for the sake of her family. It's a tale of revenge and hatred and a tale of love and goodness too.

Top Loser- Finale

(Asianet Plus, Sundays, 18.00)

Who will win the title of ‘Top Loser'? Of the 25 contestants that started out to lose weight under the guidance of dieticians and fitness experts, eight have been selected for the finale. Through this reality show not only have the contestants lost a considerable amount of weight and increased their fitness levels, but also viewers got a chance to learn about health and fitness. The finale will be telecast over five episodes on consecutive Sundays, beginning on April 25.

It is a summer holiday special for tiny tots. It consists of an entertaining half-an-hour filled with an assortment of programmes, in which youngsters can get acquainted with some exceptional young people, pick up tips on craft-making and watch the antics of adorable children like themselves.

The programme showcases some extraordinary young individuals. Some of them are prodigiously talented in certain areas while others indulge in offbeat activities such as devoting time for a social cause, environmental conservation, creating public awareness on electricity consumption and so on. By showcasing such model youngsters, the show nudges young minds to explore new possibilities and encourages them to emulate their peers.

There are enjoyable art and craft sessions, in which the anchor reveals the trick of sketching figures with a few strokes of the pen or carving figures out of cardboard in easy-to-do steps. Every episode also has candid clippings of baby talk, bustling activities of the cherubs and little imps at their naughtiest best.

IPL Countdown Hungama

As the Indian Premiere League fever grips the cricketing world, the channel joins in the celebrations with this blistering sixer of a programme. It is a quick-fire question series based entirely on the Indian Premiere League games of 2008 and 2009, which will test the contestants' knowledge of cricket and pick his brains on the facts and figures relating to cricketing stars and their records.

This show will be a limited-edition version stretched over five days. Each episode will be referred to as a ‘match' and the rounds as ‘overs.' The selected contestants will be divided into 4 teams. The starting ‘over' will be about cricket in general. The second one expects the players to identify cricketing personalities. The third will be based on cricketing records and in the fourth, the team selects a cricket star and faces questions relating to him. The final over will be a celebrity over hosted by a prominent cricketer. The player who has played the best game of the day will be given to the man of the match award.

After the players juggle the six ‘overs,' the total scores of each innings will be tallied and the team that gets caught on the back foot with the lowest score will be eliminated, and the other three will pass on to the semi-finals. The finals will be a clash between the best two teams. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and the man of the series who has the best ‘batting' average.

D'artagnan and Three Musketeers

The Russian film ‘D'artagnan and Three Musketeers' will be screened in Ulaga Thirai Pada Varisai. A three-part musical mini-series produced in the Soviet Union and first aired in 1978, it is based on Alexandre Dumas's ‘The Three Musketeers.'

Konjam Arattai Konjam Setai

(Makkal TV, Monday to Fridays at 9 p.m.)

A new dial-in live show, it is hosted by mimicry artist Dindigul Sarvanan and Iral Imaan. The duo interact with audience in their inimitable style, and keep them in splits.

A funny skit performed by Robo Shankar, Aravind and group adds another dose of humour. Begins from April 12.

Rasikka Rusikka

(Polimer TV, Saturdays and Sundays, 1 p.m.)


Here's a travel show with cookery in focus that highlights the local cuisine of different districts of the State. Anchor Jayanth balances the travel and cookery quotient well in his lively presentation. Starts this Saturday.

An interesting line-up awaits viewers on Chithirai Thirunal. In ‘Singamum Puliyum' at 9.30 a.m., meet actor Jeeva who is doing a dual role in his next film. ‘Home Minister Special' at 2.30 p.m., will feature actor Karunas and his pop singer wife Grace.

Actor Shakti, son of veteran Director P. Vasu will be featured in ‘Aatanayaganil Naan' at 8.30 p.m., where he will share some interesting facts about himself.

Director Vasanthabalan, with actors Mahesh and Anjali, shares his thoughts on the making of ‘Angadi Theru' in ‘Angaditheruvil Vasanthabalan' at 9 p.m.

Naan Ready Neenga Readya?

In this phone-in film-based game show, viewers get an opportunity to win cash prizes and a gold coin. There are three rounds – Eligibility, Visual and Audio. The winner of all three rounds gets a cash prize of Rs. 500 and can participate in the final round. The right answer will get a gold coin for the winner.

Kadhal Unplugged

The Kadhal Unplugged show saw musical talents such as Shruthi Haasan, Blaaze, Vijay Prakash, Sunitha Sarathy, Haricharn and Neha Bhasin came together on one stage to perform romantic hits from Tamil cinema. Leading the performance were noted musicians Keith Peters (bass guitar), Naveen Iyer (flute) and Shyam (piano), with support by percussion, horns and the string ensemble. The show was hosted by Craig and Pooja. Director Gautham Menon was the special guest. The two-part programme will go on air this Sunday and on April 18.

At 8 a.m. in ‘Thaimaikku Vanakkam' celebrities from different walks of life such as Mayilsami Annadurai, lyricist Vairamuthu, director Shankar and producer M. Saravannan will pay homage to their mother.

At 9 a.m., the ‘Paiya' pair Karthi and Tamanna share some experiences while shooting for the film.

At 10 a.m., the special episode of ‘Koffee with Anu' will feature Sri Lankan cricket ace Muttiah Muralidharan, who makes his first TV appearance for a show.

At 11 a.m., ‘Neeya Naana' will discuss the topic ‘Which Tamil dialect is considered to be the best?' At 1 p.m. in ‘Jodi No.1 Season 4,' the pairs will be joined by ‘Irumbukottai Murattu Singam' crew -- director Simbu Devan and actors Lawrence Ragavendra and Lakshmi Rai.

Watch the comedy ‘Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru' at 3 p.m. Directed by Nandini, the film stars Ajmal, Rupa Manjeri and Mouli.

This Vishu (April 15), ACV has a variety of specials shows to celebrate the day. A documentary on five famous Vishnu temples of central Kerala will be telecast at 09.30. Share Vishu memories with singer Madhu Balakrishnan at 11.30 and chat with Rima Kallingal at 12.30. Mohanlal-starrer ‘ Manichithrathazhu' will be telecast 14.00.
